Codes of Conduct

 

 

Managers, Coaches and Volunteer Helpers

 

We expect all managers, coaches and volunteer helpers to:

 

§         Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person, and treat each equally within the context of sport

 

§        Place the well-being and safety of each player above all considerations, including the development of performance

 

§         Adhere to all guidelines laid down by The FA

 

§         Develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect

 

§         Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance

 

§         Ensure the activities they direct are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of the players

 

§         Clarify with players (and where appropriate parents) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect of their coach

 

§         Promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play), and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game, behaviour contrary to the spirit of the Laws of the game

 

§         Display high standards of behaviour and appearance

 

§         Not to use or tolerate inappropriate language

 

 

Players

 

All players should:

 

§         Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina

 

§         Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance at all times during games

 

§         Set a positive example

 

§         Not use inappropriate language

 

§         Know and abide by the laws, rules and spirit of the game

 

§         Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally

 

§         Treat opponents with due respect at all times

 

§         Avoid violence and rough play, and help injure opponents

 

§         Accept the decisions of the Match Official without protest

 

§         Show due respect to Match Officials

 

§         Abide by the instructions of their coach and Team Officials provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code

 

§         Show due respect towards the Team Officials of the opposition

 

 

Parents

 

All Parents must:

 

§         Support the manager, coaches, team and players

 

§         Be positive role models in terms of language, attitude, restraint and sportsmanship

 

§         Avoid coaching the players during the game

 

§         Refrain from shouting and screaming

 

§         Give attention to each of the players involved in football, not just the most talented

 

§         Show due respect to Officials and opposition

 

§         Use positive comments - Give encouragement to everyone
